Sweet! Caring and Sharing!

Little did I know that when I started this blog that I would have so many recipes for food! As it happens, we had a children class at my home where the topic was caring. After devotionals and exploring all the various ways we can care for each other and other peoples thoughts, actions and property we made cookies.

Baking cookies for home visits

How do cookies tie in with caring you ask. Well, it is an old tradition to bake something and take to a new neighbour, people who are ill, special occasions etc so the kids baked cookies to take on a "home visit" to friends and relatives as part of their own core activities.

The cookies were sugar cookies and decorated with royal icing. Both items super easy to make. The sugar cookies tend to be a bit sticky so you need to keep cool and minimum handeling. No matter how sticky: they were delicious to eat!

Once the cookies were baked, cooled and decorated, they were placed in plastic food bags (dollar store wedding section) and then in cardboard snack boxes. (of course I missed the photo of that!)

Each bag and box had matching labels and you can download them here and print for your home visit cookies.

To download click the image below it is in my dropbox bcause the pdf was too large for the blog..
