Who loves flowers? I dream of them in the winter months, the softness of the petals, the sweet fragrance, the many vibrant hues. The next best thing? Make a few.
Great to be used:
1. For Core activities like Home Visits gifts
2. Occasions such as Ayyam-i-ha, Naw-Rúz, Unity In Diversity, Feast activities or crafts for children class to name a few
3. Use with a quote such as "Possess a pure, kindly and radiant heart..." or "...Flowers of one Garden"
I used this craft in my feast resource for the Feast of Honor to highlight the story Flowers for the Ancient King, a story about Abdu'l-Bahá's Honor to his Father.
These easy to make felt flowers can be attached to a magnet (or not) with a quote to give to a friend or put on your own fridge.
Time 10 to 20 minutes
Age range: 2 and up with adult help
Supplies: different colour felt (or paper), hot glue gun, quote printed or written on a leaf, and cut out, flower template
Use the template provided and cut your felt or paper.
Starting at the out most part of the cut flower, roll all the way until you reach the middle. Pretend you are rolling up a rug. For younger children you can roll the flower using a skewer with the point cut off or a pencil.
Once you get to the middle, have a adult put a dot of glue (hot glue gun) works best.
Hold the flower down a few seconds so that it is really stuck.
Attach flower to circle cut out of the template. I chose not to use this it is up to you.
Attach a magnet to the bottom or if you have access to a dollar store, my magnets had adhesive on it.
Attach the quote of you choice.
I did not use a template to cut my leave, I cut an oval and used crimping scissors ( craft scissors with different edges) to cut.
Template for flower Can be used with felt or paper
